how to arm knit a scarf with thin yarn

A popular chunky craft store yarn for arm knitting is Premier Yarns Couture Jazz Yarn. Of course, you will need larger needles than you use for one strand. I know in real knitting as the gauge of the knitting needles gets bigger, the stitches get bigger. What do I do if I lose a loop?? But its really long, 258 yards exactly.
